Do I or anybody with me need a fishing license?
Nope — Captain Austin holds a fishing license that allows every passenger onboard to fish worry-free. 👍🏽
Can I bring food, snacks and drinks onboard?
Absolutely! Captain Austin provides ice and water bottles in the front cooler underneath the flip-up seat — you're welcome to take from it and put anything you'd like inside.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Cash, Zelle, Venmo, Debit/Credit card.
Can I bring a small cooler with me?
Yes — there is room inside the center console, accessed by a door on the port (left) side. You're welcome to bring your own cooler and a bag for personal items, tucked away from the elements and secure.
Do I need to tip?
Tipping is not required — that's solely up to you and your group. It's always appreciated, as Captain Austin strives to ensure everyone has an A+ experience all the way around.
Is there a bathroom on the boat?
No bathroom onboard — but there are multiple locations with restrooms (like nearby boat ramps) that can be reached within minutes upon request. 👍🏽
How many guests can I bring?
Maximum of 4 guests on the vessel, including children.
Are there life jackets onboard?
Yes — Type I life jackets for everyone onboard plus a Type IV throwable for emergencies, all located in the large center hatch on the bow.
How many people can fish at a time?
Generally 2–3 at a time — many spots are tight quarters or require very specific casts. It's purely to eliminate tangled lines once someone hooks up!
What are croakers?
Croakers are a premium live bait we use seasonally — snook and many other inshore species can't resist them. They're not included in the trip rate, but they're available as an optional add-on. Just ask when booking!
Does the Captain fillet & bag our catch?
Of course! Captain Austin fillets, debones, skins & bags all fillets in Ziploc bags. Prefer your fish whole? No issue at all.
Is smoking allowed on the boat?
Yes, if done rather quickly — but avoid the vinyl seats at all costs, as ash may burn or stain them. Tobacco only; absolutely no marijuana on the vessel.
Do local restaurants cook your catch?
Yes, a few! "Shrimpers" in Port Salerno offers it, as well as "King Neptune," also in Port Salerno.
